Favorite Things - Picasso's

It's the quintessential coffee shop, where boisterous middle aged women discuss cooking over steaming cups of tea, while the local university students labor over their macs and multiple cups of espresso praying it's enough to fuel them for the long night ahead. Poets and writers, musicians and artists converge to enjoy the atmosphere, and baristas willing to mix up a new concoction for the brave souls with an adventurous side.

The regulars call out to their barista as they enter, and questions of "your regular?" echo through the small cafe. You could set your watch by the visits of some; same time every day, just like clockwork. Conversation blends with the clink and clatter of mugs and saucers, while smiles and sighs of contentment ooze over the pastries and lunch fare being served.

The street outside the front door remains locked in time in the historic district. The hole in the wall coffee shop which marches to it's own eclectic beat, is the safe haven and escape for so many who patrol the street at all times of the year. Strangers exchange smiles and nods and for a brief moment share a common interest.
